Terms of Service

Effective July 26, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Inner Quest (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Inner Quest. If you’re under 18, please use the Service with the awareness and, where appropriate, involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm you can lawfully enter into this agreement.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account. Keep your Google account secure — anyone who can sign into it can sign into your Inner Quest account.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
One person, one account. Don’t share your account with others.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to harm, harass, impersonate, or deceive others.
Upload content you don’t have the right to share, or content about other people that they wouldn’t reasonably expect you to keep.
Attempt to break, probe, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service, or to gain access to data that isn’t yours.
Use the Service to build a competing product, or to train an AI model on data the Service generates.
Use the Service for anything illegal.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, generally without prior notice when the violation is serious.

Not medical, therapeutic, or professional advice

Inner Quest provides self-reflection tools, psychology-inspired assessments, journaling prompts, and an AI assistant. It is not a substitute for medical care, mental-health treatment, or professional advice of any kind. The assessments offered (MBTI, Big Five, Enneagram, attachment style, and others) are educational instruments — not clinical diagnoses.

The AI assistant is a language model. It can be wrong. It can sound confident while being inaccurate. It does not know you the way a human who knows you does. Do not act on its suggestions for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

If you are in crisis or considering harming yourself or someone else, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your country immediately. In the US, call or text 988. The Service is not equipped to help in an emergency.

Your content

You own what you write. Your journal entries, assessment answers, notes, and other content remain yours.
You grant us a limited licenseto host, display, transmit, and process your content solely for the purpose of running the Service for you (e.g. showing your entries back to you, generating insights, scoring assessments, sending your messages to the AI assistant).
You’re responsible for your content. Specifically, when you write about other people, make sure you’re comfortable with the level of detail.

AI output

The AI assistant generates responses based on your messages and context from your account. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated content. You may use AI output for personal purposes; we don’t claim ownership of it, but it isn’t guaranteed to be original or unique to you.

If you connect Inner Quest to ChatGPT or another compatible AI assistant, you authorize that assistant to call Inner Quest tools within the OAuth permissions you approve. You remain responsible for reviewing requests before allowing changes, especially deletions, and for disconnecting access you no longer want.

Our content and the product itself

The Inner Quest name, logos, design, code, written content (prompts, frameworks, articles), and overall look-and-feel are owned by Inner Quest or licensed to it. Don’t copy, redistribute, or build derivative products from them without permission.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (Google/Firebase, OpenAI and connected AI assistants, Meta/WhatsApp, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Google Places, Google Calendar) to function. Your use of features that depend on those services is also subject to their terms. We aren’t responsible for outages, changes, or actions taken by those third parties.

Paid features

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will publish their pricing and terms before charging you, and any payment will require your explicit consent.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. When we make changes that materially reduce functionality, we will try to give you reasonable notice.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you becomes impractical. Termination doesn’t affect rights or obligations that by their nature should survive (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability).

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that any defect will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inner Quest and the people who run it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from or related to your use of the Service. In any case, our total liability for claims arising from the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, in which case the limits apply only to the extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Inner Quest against claims arising from your content, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms over time. When we make material changes we’ll update the effective date at the top and, when the change is significant, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of the Inner Quest operator’s residence. Where mandatory consumer-law protections apply to you locally, nothing in these Terms overrides them.
